Inspired by the color field works of painters like Barnett Newman and Mark Rothko

"HORIZONS" explores the deliberate abstract expression of the traditional landscape photograph. Precise timed movements of the camera distill scenes of both the natural and built environment into layers of light and color. As the static landscape blends blends with itself disparate elements of the scene collude and fade, new forms are created, and hidden colors revealed. The effect is created in-camera during the making of the photographs.
